Large family size reduces risk of suicide… ?
According to this news story, a new study shows that the more children a woman has, the lower her risk of suicide.
As with many modern “scientific studies”, the natural cynic in me wonders about the chicken-egg problem here.
My guess is that women who make a decision to have a large family, for the most part, are a self-selecting group of people less likely to be suicidal.
I also would venture to guess that most of us with a large family are too busy to have enough time to contemplate which method of suicide would work best, or how to carry it out.
